Overtaking (A) The overtaking of a vehicle which moves to the same direction is always carried out on the right side, unless: the driver of the preceding vehicle is signalling that he is intending to turn right and the vehicle is moving towards the centre of the road, therefore there is sufficient space, the overtake will take place on the left side of the preceding vehicle. on a road with two or more lanes on the same direction, there is increased traffic and the vehicles on the right side lane are moving slower than the vehicles on the left side lane, then overtaking may take place using the left lane. (B) In cases where the a vehicle is intending to overtake, the driver of the preceding vehicle is obliged to hold a steady speed until the vehicle overtaking reaches the same point and then must reduce speed and maintain the vehicle on the left side of the road, in order to allow the safe course of the other vehicle. In all cases, vehicles are obliged to move in such a way as to allow sufficient space for overtaking or other traffic. (C) A person which is driving or has control of a motor vehicle on any road is not allowed to overtake nor to attempt to overtake a moving vehicle towards the same direction at points where there is: continuous white line in the middle of the road, relevant traffic sign, turn with less than 100 meter visibility, junctions within urban areas or communities, arcade bridge, pedestrian crossings, ascending point, or vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.
